The Library of Congress announced today that it has made available over 500 issues of rare newspapers published by Frederick Douglas during both the pre-Civil War years and the Reconstruction Era. Here are links to the three newspaper collections:
- The North Star (Rochester, N.Y.), 1847-1851 (137 issues)
- Frederick Douglass’ Paper (Rochester, N.Y.), 1851-1860 (220 issues)
- New National Era (Washington, D.C.), 1870-1874 (211 issues)
