Here is another Civil War Institute panel posted earlier this week. This one focuses on the history and experiences of the Licensed Battlefield Guides (LBG) at Gettysburg. If you know anyone who has tried to become an LBG you know how tough it is to get the license. Licensed Battlefield Guides, Sue Boardman, Therese Orr, and Chuck Burkell talk with CWI’s Peter Carmichael about the history and experience of Licensed Battlefield Guiding at Gettysburg. The guides are interesting, but the defense of the Confederate monuments is tired. Peter Carmicheal has a great line, “The battlefield is a great classroom, but it is a deceptive classroom.”
