More than 300 guests gathered on October 16 at the Gideon Putnam Hotel in Saratoga Springs to celebrate the 200th Birthday of Ulysses S. Grant. The event was thrown by the Grant Cottage, a nearby New York State historic site where the former president completed his memoirs and died soon thereafter. Proceeds will go to help build an education pavilion on property recently added to the site by the state.
