This report gives numbers on immigrants passing through and settling in Ohio in 1868. A few interesting notes:
1. The number of Irish was down and the number of Prussians was up. By 1868 the greatest flow of Irish into the United States was declining, so this reflects national trends.
2. There is a recognition of a need for more immigrants to settle in Ohio.
3. There is a recommendation that state action be taken to match transiting immigrants with agricultural employers.
4. Most immigrants coming into the state were transiting through.
