The one-man play Mr. U.S. Grant: A Man & A Patriot will be presented at 2PM and 7PM on April 15, 2023 in Davenport, Iowa at the Mockingbird on Main Theater. The show on Ulysses S. Grant focuses on U. S. Grant’s early life, his time as a citizen in Galena, Illinois, and his rise to Civil War fame. The event celebrates the 201 st birthday of Ulysses S. Grant, the Union General and two-term 18th President of the United States. The actor playing Grant is Dan Haughey, a professor at Black Hawk College who studied Grant and created the play. He has presented the play many times at historical societies and National Park Service sites. Tickets are ten dollars and can be ordered here.
