On April 18, 2023, a program will be presented at Reconstruction Era National Historical Park on the Reconstruction stories at other National Park sites. The free event begins at 6:00 PM at Second Founding of America Learning Center, 913 West Street in Beaufort, South Carolina. Here is the description of the event provided by the Park:
Reconstruction Era National Historical Park was added to the national park system in January of 2017 to tell the story of Reconstruction across the nation through the lens of the events that took place around Beaufort South Carolina during and after the Civil War. However, many units of the National Park Service have Reconstruction era resources and stories to tell, and some national parks were even established during Reconstruction.
On Tuesday, April 18 at 6pm, celebrate National Park Week with an evening presentation at the Second Founding of America Learning Center to learn about Reconstruction stories from across the National Park Service.
