This May Be Your Last Chance to See “Harriet” in Theaters

Most “small” films get a four week national theatrical release. The new film “Harriet” on Harriet Tubman is now in its fifth week of release, having exceeded box office expectations. The film has sold $39 million in tickets on a $17 million cost, so it was held over in many parts of the country, but it looks like it will be out of all but a handful of theaters after Thursday, so if you want to see it, you likely only have three days left.

  1. I’ve a question for you. I follow your blog and find it useful as the Reconstruction is a period of U.S. history that I find fascinating if also painful. Some times when I attempt to access a post on your blog from WordPress’s “reader” listing, I get a “file not found” page instead. When that happens, I can still read the post through the reader view. The most recent example is your post about Michael Kazin’s review of Eric Foner’s new book.

On the other hand, I had no problem “visiting” this post.

Since I have my own blog, I am curious about this. And if you were not aware of it, well, here’s the news.

Also: thanks for your work on this topic.
