William Seward Monument Auburn New York Photo Tour

Seward Park is located south of the Seward Home in Auburn, New York. The house is visible in the background.  The bronze statue of William Henry Seward was erected in 1888 by the people of Auburn. It is located at the intersection of South Street and William Street.

The monument is inscribed:

The Constitution regulates our stewardship. The Constitution devotes the domain to union, to justice, to defence, to welfare and to liberty.

But there ia a righter law than the Constitution, which regulates our authority over the domain, and devotes it to the same noble purposes.

In the park there is also a marker to Alexis de Tocqueville.
