Battle of Cold Harbor Living History This Weekend

This weekend the Richmond National Battlefield Park will commemorate the bloody Battle of Cold Harbor.

The weekend’s events will be held at the Cold Harbor Battlefield Visitor Center, 5515 Anderson Wright Drive in Mechanicsville, free of charge.

The Richmond National Battlefield Park Battle of Cold Harbor Anniversary Event will be in-person this year.

Saturday, June 4 will feature rifle and cannon demonstrations. Saturday night, the park will offer candlelight tours. (Candlelight tour is BY RESERVATION ONLY.) The candlelight tour will cover approximately .75 mile and takes place along the Cold Harbor Battlefield tour road; the ground can be uneven, and visitors are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear and bring a flashlight for visibility.

Here is the schedule of activities, subject to change:

Saturday
10 am- Artillery Demonstration
11 am- Confederate Rifle Demonstration
12 pm- Union Rifle Demonstration
1 pm- Artillery Demonstration

Sunday:
10 am- Ranger-guided Tour
2 pm- Ranger-guided Tour
3 pm- Author Gordon Rhea
