Manchester New Hampshire Civil War Monument Restored

Manchester, New Hampshire’s well-known Civil War monument was restored over the last year and was unveiled on Thursday. Originally dedicated in 1879, the monument underwent a $250,000 restoration that included renovations of the fountain’s water system, new electrical work, and preservation of the statues on the monument. The 50 foot high monument has a plaque saying it was dedicated “In honor of the men of Manchester who gave their services in the war which preserved the Union of the States and secured equal rights to all under the Constitution this monument is built by a grateful city.”
