New Website Tells Story of Millican Massacre in 1868 Texas

In the Summer of 1868 a massacre of freedpeople took place in Millican, Texas. Reports on the numbers killed vary widely, but all agree that while many African Americans were murdered, no whites were killed. Texas A&M University has created a web site that is archiving documents from the 1860s relating to this massacre. Here is the web site. Millican is in Brazos County, near College-Station.
