Video: The War Over Memory at Bull Run Battlefield

Historian Tyler McGraw has a good video at Emerging Civil War where he discusses the impending removal of signage explaining the history behind the erection Stonewall Jackson’s statue at Manassas (Bull Run) Battlefield in Virginia. A good discussion by him of the Lost Cause ideology of the Sons of Confederate Veterans who helped put up the statue and the political impact it has had. With the National Park Service looking at further removals of historic signage, it is well worth a watch.
